Key Fantasy Angles:
- Strong home opener vs Fulham, but the early schedule is loaded with potential banana skins.
- Brighton’s fixtures vs Man City (H), Chelsea (A), Spurs (H) and Newcastle (H) come fast and could shape their campaign early.
- Palace (GW11) and Brentford (GW13) offer classic rivalry spice and points potential.
Draft Strategy Tips:
- Target Brighton’s mid-season run (GW21–28) for differential value, particularly defenders and midfielders.
- Avoid over picking early, as fixtures are brutal through GW10. Favour reactive pickups over early-round locks.
- Palace double-header (GW11 & GW25) makes for potential punt territory.
Brighton under Fabian Hurzeler came close to a European spot last season, but this campaign opens like a tightrope walk over a crocodile pit. After a manageable Fulham opener, they’ll clash with five top-half contenders in the next seven. FPL managers might need to bide their time with Seagulls assets — those who pounce post-Man City (GW21) could be rewarded handsomely. The Crystal Palace derbies, especially after last season’s bruisings, are also circled with extra red ink. If Brighton come through the chaos in decent shape, they’re prime to feast on the likes of Sunderland, Burnley, and Bournemouth in the second half.
