  • Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 7 Preview: Picks, Predictions & Who to Avoid
Danny Welbeck

Gameweek 7 is here, and with international break looming, it’s the last chance to rack up those fantasy points before the pause. We’ve got tight calls, revenge games, dodgy keepers and a couple of potential thrashings. Let’s get into the fixtures, predicted results, and most importantly — who to pick for your FPL or draft team.

Another week, another chance to overthink your transfers and inevitably bench the wrong player. So lets get into it.

Friday Night Football: Bournemouth vs Fulham

Another week, another VAR disaster for Fulham. Josh King’s penalty that never was and Matty Cash with the hands, flipped a 3-in-a-row hot streak into a 3-1 loss. Still, they’ve looked sharp, and this game promises to be close. Bournemouth have been solid as houses at home shock and horror right, but Fulham’s energy and cohesion should edge it.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Fulham
Fulham Picks: Josh King (still due), Alex Iwobi, Antonee Robinson (check availability)
Bournemouth Picks: Antoine Semenyo (lively all season), Marcos Senesi (bonus magnet)

Saturday Early KO: Leeds vs Spurs

Spurs are looking like a machine under Thomas Frank, even if they’ve slipped into some odd habits lately with two straight draws and Spurs have a strange issue with Paulinha and Bentacur in the middle as two destroyers so all play goes down the wings, pick up Porro, Kudus and potentially a bit of Xavi Simons. Leeds are solid, but Spurs’ wide players will dominate this one.

Score Prediction: 2-0 Spurs
Spurs Picks: Pedro Porro (assist + cleanie watch), Kudus (busy), Xavi Simons (wildcard differential)
Leeds Picks: Stach and Gudmundsson (solid defensive stats, not glamorous but valuable)

Arsenal vs West Ham

Nuno’s real impact won’t be seen until after the break, but Arsenal are too polished for transitional West Ham. Gyokeres will cause problems and Arsenal defenders are back on the points train, byt yeah say it again, Gyokeres looks like he could thrive in this sort of game.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Arsenal
Arsenal Picks: William Saliba, Viktor Gyokeres, Bukayo Saka
West Ham Picks: El Hadji Malick Diouf (tackle points incoming), Jarrod Bowen

Man United vs Sunderland

Bayindir in goal is proving to be… an adventure. Bayindir is a disaster. Like, Meslier-in-2022 levels, only 54% save rate which is dire in the PL with him in goals no team has a chance. United still have some firepower though, and Sunderland have looked competitive.

Score Prediction: 3-2 United
United Picks: Matheus Cunha (nailed), Benjamin Sesko, Bruno Fernandes (still running the show)
Sunderland Picks: Granit Xhaka (engine room), Omar Alderete (clean sheet unlikely, points likely)

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Chelsea are teetering , another loss here and it’s full-blown crisis. Liverpool are missing Ekitike and Alisson, but Isak is ready to explode.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Liverpool
Liverpool Picks: Mohamed Salah (obviously), Alexander Isak (Anfield debut), Ryan Gravenberch
Chelsea Picks: Moises Caicedo, Pedro (dangerous but needs better support)

Sunday: Villa vs Burnley

Villa are finally clicking, and Burnley still can’t get out of their own way. This is the Watkins blow-up week.

Score Prediction: 3-0 Villa
Villa Picks: Ollie Watkins (breakout alert), John McGinn, Harvey Elliott
Burnley Picks: Pray for them.

Everton vs Crystal Palace

Surprise pick for match of the weekend? Everton are thriving in the new stadium, but Palace are the ultimate away-day spoilers. A deceptively entertaining matchup. Watch this now its going to be a damp squib of a game because I said it now.

Score Prediction: 2-2 draw
Everton Picks: Jack Grealish (seriously), James Garner, James Tarkowski
Palace Picks: Jean-Philippe Mateta, Daniel Munoz, Marc Guehi

Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest

Forest are waiting on Angeball to kick in post-international break. For now, Newcastle are too strong. The big lad up top looks……interesting

Score Prediction: 2-0 Newcastle
Newcastle Picks: Nick Pope, Dan Burn, Nick Woltemade
Forest Picks: Anderson (that’s it)

Wolves vs Brighton

The definition of a dead rubber. Unless Mitoma plays, and then you have some hope. Brighton should win this… but this has classic banana skin vibes.

Score Prediction: 1-0 Brighton
Brighton Picks: Kaoru Mitoma (fitness dependent), Danny My Name Is Wele Welbeck
Wolves Picks: Beuno (lively, but limited upside)

Brentford vs Man City

Brentford love smashing a Manchester club at home. But this is Haaland. This is City. There will be blood. Brentford bullied United. Will they do it again vs City? Probably not. Because Haaland.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Man City
City Picks: Erling Haaland (excellent)
Brentford Picks: Dango Ouattara, Nathan Collins
